There were several skills and practices that were important and played a role in the growth and spread of early civilizations. Artisans were important because they made important items such as dishes, pots, clothing and baskets. Farming and trading was important so that people could grow crops and raise animals on their land. Government was also an important part of early civilization. An organized government issued rules and laws for the people so that things could run more smoothly.
