slope = (2 + 3)/(4 +2) = 5/6

passing thru (4,2)
y = mx + b
2 = 5/6(4) + b
2 = 10/3 + b
b = 2 - 10/3
b = 6/3 - 10/3
b = -4/3

equation in slope-intercept form
y = 5/6x - 4/3
