Given a rational function below

[tex]f(x)=\frac{8x^3-6x^2+6x-5}{2x^2-1}[/tex]

To find the slant asymptote, divide the numerator by the denominator applying long division

The quotient is the slant asymptote

Hence, the slant asymptote of the given function is

[tex]y=4x-3[/tex]
