Step-by-step explanation:

y=x-2....eqn1

x+y=12.....eqn2

now,

from eqn 1

y= x-2

again, putting value of y in eqn 2

  • x+y=12
  • x+x-2=12
  • 2x=12+2
  • x=14/2
  • x=7

in eqn 1

  • y=x-2
  • y=7-2
  • y=5
