How does the structure of fungi relate to their functions?

Fungi contains afilaments called hyphae, which are made up strings of cells and  which are separated from one another by septa or crosswalls. 
Many of these hyphae grouped together and they make up mycelium
 The melanin helps to strengthen the cell wall as well as protect the fungus from sun damage and cell wall give a proper shape to the fungi
