The graph of y = x^3 + 6 is the result of shifting y = x^3 up 6 units

If f(x) = x^3, then g(x) = f(x) + 6 leads to g(x) = x^3+6.

The reason we shift up 6 is because we're adding 6 to the y coordinate.

Think of y = f(x), so f(x)+6 is the same as y+6.
