Simplify by combining like terms.2(−4y − 9) − 5y

Multiply out the brackets first.
So 2(-4y-9)-5y becomes -8y-18-5y   [2 times -4y and 2 times -9]
Then simplify -8y-5y-18 to the answer ......-13y-18 or -(13y+18)
