Constantinople's name was changed to Byzantine after the Ottomans defeated it in 1453.

One of the great civilizations in the world is traced back to 330 AD. ‘Constantinople’ meaning ‘new Rome’ come from Constantine, the Roman emperor. For 1,000 or more years, it has shown its a rich tradition of art, literature and many more until 1453 during the reign of Constantine XI.
